It sounds like your GERD is already bad enough to consider surgery. You may therefore want to explore the 2 new non-surgical proceedures, Stretta and Endocinch. I'm exploring them for myself and they do not involve the use of a general anesthetic. Both companies have a link on this web page. Good luck.
