Bard Procedure---acts like a tiny sweing machine, putting stitches in different places near the junction between the stomach and esophagus. The sutures are then pulled together to narrow the loose valve.
The Stretta Procedure--- applies heat to muscle around the valve with tiny electrodes, creating areas that develop into bands of scar tissue along the esophagus. This helps to stregthen the barrier between the esophagus and the stomach.
So for folk out there that is tired of constantly taking failed medications, here are two alternative treatments for Gerd. Now we're talking business! Let's concentrate more of fixing the problem instead of masking it up.
I suppose that these two new devices just put out are probably not going to fix everyone. Some people it will work on and other it won't I'm sure but don't give up hope people. I've read so many negative stories on this website about people wanting to give up. What for? You only live once here on Earth anyways; so why not put up every fighten muscle you have in your bodies. I would encourage people to put every single free moment they they can afford into educating themselves about their illnesses. Too many times we're too caught up into letting everyone else solve our own problems. Do research on your illnesses; find out every single thing you can comprehend about your illness, then take measurements into your own hands and heal yourselves! I have Gerd and I read every single thing on it I can find people! I know more about the disease then my own practioner. I search articles in the library, magazines, books, internet, and just ordinary people. You'd be surprised at the things you learn that Doctors won't tell you simply cuz they don't know themselves.
They're are alternative treatments that can help out with your suffering with Gerd. Take the Ginger root juice for example; it's worked for hundreds of people!!! It's so cheap!!! So educate yourselves about everything you can find on your condition, take notes, print out copies, keep files on it. Find out the latest procedures available, read all the alternative books you can find about your condition. You'd be amazed at the different things that can help until you can have the problem fixed. The medical industry is obviously trying hard to help us, so we need to also give them credit and stop critisizing them for every single mistake they make! They are learning just like we are, so be patient! Ten years ago the acid suppressives weren't even available, so people just had to either get antacids or operation or suffer.
One thing that we all have to learn in life is that we have to take the initiative to help ourselves and stop pointing our fingers at everyone else!Western Doctors are taught to treat the symptoms, so that's what they do. We now have other options available, let them treat the symptoms while you educate yourselves and treat yourselves as well. If the skilled meditations work for you then keep doing it, if they don't ask yourself why did it fail. Did I not do it right; let me try it again! Alternative medicine is Eastern style and it doesn't always work overnight! 1 to 2 years for results is more like it, but if it works continue to do it! Read, Read, Read, and Research everything! Find out who the best surgeons are, and do what you gotta do to save your lives!!!
Start an e-mail support group or a local support group for people with Gerd Disease in your areas. What I am trying to say is take charge, and do your part! Take that extra step, and walk that extra mile. If the Doctor walks one mile then you gotta walk two miles! Catch my point people. Put an ad in the newspaper for Gerd support group and get a community group going there; you'd be amazed at the things you could learn from other people. Find out about the different medical methods that work for our condition and then share it on every single Gerd website you can find. I'ts all about helping you and others; that's the only way we're going to fight this disease is by doing it together.
If I have to have a Nissan Fundo done, guess what not only will I have the best surgeon my insurance can buy but I will also be knocked out on the operating table listening to my walkman with messages telling me that (I will survive this operation, I will do just fine, my body will respond to this operation 100%.) If I can get away with that in the operating room; you better believe that I will have my walkman on listening to 90 minutes worth of positive messages that I or my Naturalpathic Doctor taped for me.
My point is do every single thing you can do for yourself, remember it's your life, and your only on earth one time, give it your best fight and WIN!!!
