Kathy, I was also on Prevacid since February of this year and was experiencing abdominal cramps from my sternum down to my pubic bone and just really felt sick all the time. My GI doc thought that maybe I had IBS and was wanting to do a colonoscopy to make sure nothing else was going on. But about four weeks ago my one-year-old got sick with bronchitis and strep then my four year old got it then I got it. So since four weeks ago I have not been on my Prevacid and I feel so much better. I have heartburn again and so I have been chewing TUMS until I can get back to my GI doc and I also take one Prevacid every now and then but for my stomach pains I feel so much better. I think the Prevacid was causing my gastritis to flare up and also causing intestinal upset. My bowel movements were abnormal for a while also on the Prevacid and now that is back to normal. So maybe it is the Prevacid. I really think so.
