From: Mike to Ferby STOP TAKING THE PPI'S!!! READ
THIS!!! Quick!!!
Date: 10/01/00
Time: 22:34:35
According to: (ASK A DOCTOR), ON THIS WEBSITE,I've just read that if a person has Barretts esophagus that the PPI's will eventually cause the cancer cells to progess. Go into the (ASK A DOCTOR) section of this website and sit down and read ALL of the questions and answers on Barretts Esophagus and I swear you will find one where the Doctor says that taking PPI's will only cause the Barretts to worsen most likely causing cancer. Read all of the questions and answers and eventually you'll find it!!! Contact the Doctor that said it ask him whatever else you need to know. Then I'd suggest that you have a Nissan Fundoplication Surgery done right away. I'd also suggest that you find the best surgeon in the nation for your problem being that you've already had 10 surgeries done. You'd be better off looking into some alternative med's for Gerd disease to help you until you can get the operation done. You will eventually find that right surgeon, just go to your nearest hospital and check into their library for options about your problems; somebody somewhere can help you get at least 88% better then where you are now!!! Listen to the support you have on this website from others; I think you can get better if your willing to also help yourself. Stop taking the 80mg's or it's gonna kill ya!
I'd stop taking the 80mg of Prilosex altogether and probably just take the Zantac. In the meantime go to an Herbalist in your area that can give you some natural med's to take that won't hurt you. Remember all the PPI's are doing is masking the problems; they are NOT A CURE for the Gerd Disease!!! Read some alternative books on medications that can help with your conditions until you can find a surgeon who can do the job RIGHT. Read the (ask a doctor) archives on this website and then get started on your journey man. I'd also get copies of your Doctor's records and copies of all of your tests and send them to the surgeon that's going to help you. In the meantime get another Doctor!!! Because the side effects alone can eventually do real harm when taken for long periods of time. Any of these PPI's are only supposed to be taken for 4 to 12 weeks max; then we're supposed to be taking h2 med's during the times while we're off PPI's. PPi's are supposed to heal esophagitis and that's it!!! They weren't meant to be taken for long periods of time and it even says that on the side effects list given out by the pharmists which I did check into for myself after reading up on it on this here web-page!!! So read and do your homework like we all say and you'll eventually start to get better; think positive man. Think positive!!!
Good Luck to you Mike
