This is a tough question to answer without a longer dialogue on other symptoms, history, etc. If it feels like food is sticking on the way down he needs and Upper GI test to assess the esophagus. This could be absolutely nothing or it could be an esophageal problem or other chest problem. He needs to see his physician for a more thorough history and physical exam!
