Leg Pain is Prevacid side effect?

I've been on Prevacid (30mg/day) for about a year. As long as I'm careful what I eat, I have no heartburn so the medicine is working great.

About 6 weeks ago, I started to get a dull ache in my lower right leg. Sometimes my knee hurts, sometimes just below my knee hurts, sometimes my heel hurts, etc. The pain moves around and comes and goes... Anyway, at first it would hurt maybe once every 7-10 days, but now it's gotten more frequent and hurts pretty much every day. At times my lower left leg hurts now too.

I was taking the pill but stopped (a month ago) to see if that was the cause. Didn't help. I had surgery on my lower right leg 12 yrs. ago for melanoma (class I). Tylenol helps only slightly. Could the Prevacid be causing the pain? I can't tell if it's muscular or circulatory or what. No numbness or weakness. It doesn't wake me up at night and I feel fine when I awake but once I start moving around it starts to hurt. FYI, I'm 39, 5'6", 115 lbs., fairly active, can pop my knees like other people can pop their knuckles (maybe I should stop doing this?). Thanks a lot.

PS: I can't get to my gastro doc until mid September.
