I was on Reglan for almost two months for GERD. I stopped taking it because I started experiencing muscle twitches, lethargy and mild depression. Since I discontinued it, i have what i can only describe as withdrawal tyoe symptoms that coincided with my discontinuation of the drug. My question is is it possible that Reglan has permanently affected me or will these withdrawal type symptoms eventually go away. My withdrawal symptoms are all the opposite effects to the side effects of the drug: a revved up feeling, brief attacks of nausea and lightheadedness, and occasional bizarre mental feelings. I know Reglan affects dopamine levels in the brain. Is it possible it has permanently altered my brain in some way? What kind of specialist would be able to help me get back to normal? Thanks for your help.
