i had an endoscopy two years ago, all it showed was some polyps which when analyzed were negative. i also had a upper gi and ultrasound two years ago which showed nothing. now after two years the medicine Prevacid i have been taking 30mg a day stopped working, my gastroenterologist said it should still work no matter what, he doubled my dosage to 30mg 2x a day and said he wants to do another endoscopy to rule out any thing else. the prevacid are still not working, i was put on Prilosec 20mg a day, after a few days i got burning in my stomach and lower stomach, couldnt sleep either. stopped taking that, now i am on 10mg Prilosec, it is working for my reflux but i have some side effects, headache, a little itching, and burning in my stomach at night, will these disappear eventually? i am seeing my doctor next week, and would like your opinion. i have not had a ph test or motility test either. does the gastroenterologist do that or does the surgeon, because if the medication doesnt work, i will have to go to a surgeon, or i am thinking of being referred to a surgeon in Boston who is doing the stretta procedure, which is less invasive. thank you Joanne L
