H Pylori Infection and GERD

Dear Doctor, I was treated in March for an ulcer with acute H Pylori infection and esophagitis. I took Biaxin for 14 days and Aciphex for 8 weeks. Against my doctor's advice, I discontinued all meds because the intense stomach pain I was having resolved itself very quickly. Instead I have made drastic dietary changes. I have eliminated all dietary irritants, drink only water, elevate my bed, etc. and have developed terrible reflux. I recently read in medical literature that eradicating H Pylori often creates severe reflux esophagitis, but it did not state why. Do you know why? And also, I had a terrible reaction to Prilosec recently but seemed to tolerate Aciphex well. Is there a big difference between these two meds? I appreciate your input. Thank you! Christina
