Dear Don, No the drugs are not the same. They are in the same family of drugs called proton pump inhibitors which turn off the stomach's acid producing cells when taken with a meal. I have not seen any nonbiased research on their real comparison but the truth is that they both just treat the symptoms of GERD not the cause.
