Hello, I am a 49 year old female who has lupus. I have been on priolsec 40 mg a day for about three months. I am still continuing to have flank pain that radiates to the front and chest pain which is substernally. the primary care physician and I reached an agreement to at least try the prilosec before proceeding with an endoscopy. I wanted to wait. The pain radiates to the back on the left side and is not related to eating or not eating. The pain is "boring" at times or feels as if it is. Additionally, the back/flank pain feels as if a horse kicked me in the side. Is this GERD related as my phsyician thought it might be? I have had all the approriate tests for the heart and it was not it. Could you please tell me what needs to be done now and what could this pain be? Thank you for your time and effort in answering the questions.
