Hi, and welcome to the wonderful world of GERD !!
Actually, I have the same exact problem !! Never had heartburn at all, but terrible redness and swelling of the vocal cords -- they did tests and the performed surgery on my esophagus/stomach 20 months ago and supposedly the reflux is gone but the vocal problems are still there, though modest compared to before - yet not gone and I can't sing anymore. Have had tests since then, all say no reflux -- but am going in for an endoscopy and colonoscopy in January. Hopefully that will shed some light.
I too would like to hear more from those of us with "atypical GERD" and if there are any other answers out there !!!
