I also have Barrett's but at endoscopy (November) was not inflammed, biopsy came back benign & stable - I'm due for another endoscopy next May & my gastro reckons that if it remains uninflammed, normal esophagal cells start to develop over the damaged mucosa addding further protection. He also said that if the next biopsy is OK & mucosa looks fine I don't need another endoscopy for quite a few years. I was pretty worried about the Barrett's but my Gastro reassurred me that lots of people have it & most suffer no problems - if kept under control there is nothing to worry about. Good luck.
