I had both the manometry test and pH test done about 10 days ago. My understanding is that any sedation they give you could affect the test and during the manometry test you really need to concentrate not to swallow until they tell you to. The tech told me that I had small nasal passages and the first tube was difficult to get in. It wasn't a pleasent test although the manometry was worse. My suggestion is to make sure that you sniff in alot of the topical numbing stuff and give it some time to take effect before starting. As for the 24 hr pH study, initially I just layed at home and it didn't do much of anything until I got up and did some packing and wrapping boxes etc. Good luck and try and relax as much as possible - I'm happy that it's over with.
