I wasn't on vocal rest because I didn't know there was anything wrong with me. I only had uncomfortable pain under the breastbone. My ENT thought the inflamation at the larynx was due to the pregnancy and not quite gone yet (1 mo. after birth) - I did have it bad. However, I did before too, but not ever after the baby. However, I'm still having problems -- but they've gotten better. I have a theory, but don't think most GI's will agree yet: here it is........... I've know many women that after the birth of their child, they had reflux for 9 all the way up to 18 months, then nothing. I've found this out from several lady's I've met and my Pediatricians wife was the same. He said it was the temporary kind. She just ate small meals to help her out. My GI (who's female) thinks it's hormones, and mine are wacko now. However, we'll have to see if it is, or if it's a physical damage problem -- the LES can stretch and become permanently damaged when the baby is high -- which mine was SUPER high and I'm small. I've had heart tests, Upper GI, US, and CBC all normal. I've not found anything ANYWHERE regarding this on the net, just talking with many other women. I'll contact you at your address. keep me informed how your doing.
