There is nothing easy about the holidays coming and having gerd. I was so bad about throwing up all the time, we had to turn down invitations for almost a year. No it isn't fair to the spouse but it isn't fair to the person suffering to go out and watch other people eat at the table. Not to mention people notice and keep asking why are you not eating? Do you have an eating disorder? Finally we just did not go anywhere until I had the surgery correct the serious gerd I had. The spouse has to be understand during this trying time. Mine was and he stuck by me for the whole year pre-op. AS I would for him. But everyone has to do what they think is right. Being I could not keep food down at all it would not have been the thing for us to be social. Sometimes I would have people over and this way I could fix some foods I was able to eat aside from what I was serving. I hope you get better during the New Year, things have to get better. Good luck, Lucy (been there)
