Hello. I am writing to the board in the hopes that someone can give me some feedback. I have had a terrible time with clearing my throat over the last couple of years. It has gotten especially bad in the last 8 months or so. I went to my ENT and he said my vocal chords were red and that it must be acid from my stomach so he gave me Prilosec. After a week I could not deal with the side effects and asked him if I could try over the counters and lifestyle. He said I could but that this problem was nothing to mess with. THe thing is I do not have heartburn! I do not recall having heartburn for a long long time. I only have junk in my throat which I must clear. Nor do I feel reflux, especially if I am not eating too late or bad stuff etc. I have felt acid come up into my throat this past summer a couple of times, but I just don't experience it often at all. I do burb somewhat. I just don't know what to think, but I am VERY worried about damaging my vocal chords. COuld anyone respond with some light on this? THank you so much and I am grateful you are all here.
