Here's what my dr. prescribed: no chocolate, tea, coffee, pop (soda), fried foods, processed meats (sausage, lunch meats, hot dogs, etc), spices (only salt, sugar, parsely, & basil allowed), gravy, soup containing meat broth, garlic or onions, strongly seasoned salad dressings, alcohol, or spicey cheese. By eliminating fried foods, we also eliminate most casseroles made with fried ground beef. I also found on my own that citrus products (orange juice) and tomato products cause problems. This eliminates my morning orange juice and any pasta dish. I just cannot get used to the idea of pasta with margarine on it!

Is this the sort of diet you are on? It is actually very restrictive. Breakfast and lunch are usually not a problems as I am accustomed to eating whole wheat bread with jam or cheese or something (I was never into the lunch meats anyway). It is supper which is a problem. I cook a meal for my family and one for me. To make it simple, I usually microwave a piece of fish or some ground beef for myself. Sometimes I do a small steak on the grill (I have a Jenn-air stove with a grill).

Parties are the worst, as the original submission stated - re: Gerd/festive season.

Now that I have described my diet, what's yours?
