What'so sad here is how we're all just fishing in the dark. That angers me. Why does this have to be so? I don't know yet what shape my LES is in, as I haven't had it tested yet. But one hypthosesis suggested on that voice disorders page and others for people with larynx problems not getting too much heartburn is that it (the acid) splashes up into the throat and stays there just long enough to injure it (You know how short these episodes can last, partic if you have lung aspiratino) -- not long enough in the esophagus to damage it. Well, anyway, that's what I read. I can tell you, having spent a year on an IBS board, I certainly feel on firmer ground understanding that than I do this.

By the way, you asked about antihistimanes. Ranitidin is an H-2 blocker. I'm taking Pepcin.
