Saw my gastro guy yesterday and asked him if he'll be doing either of the new procedures. He pretty much poo-pooed them and said none of the gastro surgeons in the Houston area are going to be doing either procedure. He said it's all a hype from the drug companies and no blind studies were done. We'll see how it all works out in the long run I guess. I remember asking my internist several years ago about the H-Pylori bacteria and he said it was all BS. Guess he was wrong. I'm scheduled to have endoscope later in the month. Not too happy about it, especially as my symptoms have moderated somewhat since I quit Prevacid last week. I think the Prevacid did help heal whatever was wrong, but it seems to be a short term fix as side effects come later in the treatment. I had nausea and diarreah after taking it for 7 weeks. Feel pretty good right now.
