DGL are licorice tablets. You get them at the helath food store. THey are processed in a way that they willnot elevate your blood pressure (licorice root by itself can elevate blood pressure). Anyway it is recommended that you take 2 - 4 tablets about 15 minutes before meals. They don't taste great,b ut they are cheap as compared to drugs. I also take them in between like I would a Tums. I keep them in my car and when I'm out and I begin to get that burn
