I just saw your last reply (I guess it was the last one). I don't know what HCI is. But it would be a good question to Ask the Doctor on that terrific new feature (remind me to send Hawk some money -- this board is really great).

As far as a procedure for UES -- boy, I sure don't know. I just saw an ENT today and had a throat scope and found out I have moderate redness and swelling in the larynx and distorted vocal chords. He said, "Well, in one sense, it's better to have reflux this way -- easier to see." Hmmmm. I think I heard you saying "if there's fewer Gerd (you mean less severe) there would be "fewer" laryng (sp?) reflux. Yeah, I suppose that's true. He didn't feel I was bad enough to have ANY procedure at this point, but I haven't had my endoscopy yet, and I want to have a 24-hour PH test as well. I don't see the sense in taking these medicines with all their side effects the rest of your life.
