Thankyou so much for responding Sibbie. I've read recently where a number of people have had problems with the PPIs. I am convinced that the Prevacid was making my stomach the way it was. I feel that Zantac will be alright, as my mother and grandmother used to take it to actually calm their stomachs, and it is MUCH less severe than a Proton Pump Inhibitor. But if my problems persist I too may just go off the drugs entirely for awhile. Like I've said, the doctors are handing these PPIs out like candy, and two of the main side effects lised on the pharmaceutical sheets are STOMACH ACHE and NAUSEA!
