It's been a while since I posted to this board. It's always been very helpful to me. I had a lap nissen in August for atypical GERD: sore throat, hoarsness, chronic throat clearing and chronic sinus infections. About 4 months after my surgery, my symptoms returned. I was treated for 4 months for a chronic sinus infection. On my request, they finally did another 24 hour ph study which confirmed my fear - the acid reflux had returned. So, I am back on prevacid, which takes care of the acid fairly well but not completely. I also take a pepcid ac at bedtime. I am also still trying to get rid of this sinus infection. My question is do you know about meds that can "exacerbate" reflux? I am on several medications for other health problems, and my surgeon told me that it is possible that they can be causing my reflux symptoms. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!! Also, do you know of any cases where persons take more than 2 30 mg. of prevacid a day to control the acid?
