FWIW, I took Prevacid for two years and had no heartburn. Then my reflux began to return. To make a long story short, I had the Nissen operation in January, and have been heartburn free ever since. My advice? Go see an expert in anti reflux surgery. GERD is a challenging disease, and worthy of the finest doctor you can find.
