Reflux can be the cause or a major aggravating factor in adult onset asthma. I think you need to have the degree of reflux, if any, evaluated by a gastroenterologist who's familiar with GERD. If you really do have reflux, it seems that it is not well controlled by medications. Asthma is often not alleviated by medications to lower gastric acidity. Surgery may be a good option for you. Not all gastroenterologists are convinced that an operation is helpful. You may have to persist in finding a surgeon who's able to do the surgery and properly evaluate you. Good luck.
