Rebound symptoms?

Hello:

I recently posted - I went off my Protonix for about a week before PH test, I continued on a half dose for a few days. Symptoms have returned big time! I have been on my full dose for about 3.5 weeks, I still have considerable burning now even in my stomach!

Is this a rebound effect? how long until my meds should start working again? The other PPI's cause considerable side effects (I really don't want to switch)

Is the burning in my stomach due to my proton pumps reboub=nding with increased acid for being turned off for so long?
