I too feel like an airway obstruction which makes a wheezing sound if I want to or it makes none which is more a tight feeling. I am 43 and was very frightened of this being very serious. My ENT Dr. does not seem too concerned but wants me to have a barium swallow test-this rules out anything blocking an area. He knows I have gerd and although a new condition for me it was not treated and evidently at night when I lay flat the acid has been doing a number on me-this is also a time when if we are stressed the acids can really get fiery. I am totally inflamed by the acid-this he could see. I have heartburn alot if I don't take meds and I am learning to eat differently-very healthy and weight is coming off which I hear is essential. I have 40 more lbs to go. In my family everyone has this condition in one variety or another and my dad who passed on at 87 had it but did not kill him-heart did. Good luck and keep in touch.
