globus sensation

I hope I have done this correctly. I have a question for the docs regarding globus sensation. For 9 months I have had a sensation of there being something small left in my throat after I swallow. The sensation is sometimes stronger, sometimes weaker, and occasionally disappears altogether. It is not associated with any particular food, body position, or anything else I can determine. I do not have any chest pain, burning sensation, or breathing problems. Gastroscopy was normal and esophageal motility study showed greatly increased pressures. I know g.s. can be associated with GERD but this does not seem likely in my case. Have tried ranitidine without improvement, now am on nifedipine 10 mg BID with no change in sx. I have read a great deal about GERD, globus sens and other related GI conditions but so far have not found a reference to g.s. and increased esoph. pressure. Can you give me any info as to what I might consider next in terms of testing and/or treatment?
