Well, here I am in another between-a-hard-rock place. I always try and buy that market magazine, "Woman's World," health nut that I am, because it has these colored upfront pages with the latest natural cures for everything, but back ed by academics or scientific study. Enticing.
This week was a whole page of them, including a note from gastroenterologist Jorge Herrera, M.D> of University of South Alabama College of Medicine, which said that a major study proves taht milk can temporarily neuturalize the backed-up acid in your chest.
Unfortunately, one of my diet lists (from IBS) forbids lactose. Maybe if I drop in a lactaid tablet...There were also other cures, like for bronchitis, which annoyed me, because like all these others, it seems to involves things gerd folks can't eat. This one involves garlic and chili peppers, mustard etc. are three times a week less likely to develop chronic bronchitis and emphysema, studies show. Depression can be linked to a folic aaacid defieciency and helped by spinach and Brazil nuts! Actually, I don't know if Spinach is a no-no for heartburn. I get so mixed up as to what I can eat or not eat. at this point. Sometimes everything bothers me. Oh, it did verify that ginger is good for nausea. In any form. More so even than Dramamine.
Now the folks at Tamer say that a few drops of coffee tamer in milk will help, but I haven't figured out the science on that one.
