Just thought I would let everyone know that I had a fight with my GI doctor on Monday,he told me that I would just have to live with this pain,not being able to eat,or work....He would not order the test to see if I could have the surgery...What I really dont understand is why he would not do the test just as a dignostic tool,to see how my upper motility was,and to see just how much acid I was refluxing...I think that would have helped him in treating me.He said that I had to take PPIs for the next 40years of my life,even though they only took away the feeling of heartburn and the back and shoulder pain.So as soon as I got home I called a sergoen,I saw him Friday,he ordered the 24hr probe and the moility test for feb20th,he feels that he will be able to help me....He also told me he sees alot of reflux,caused by the hiatal hernia....not as uncommon as GI doctor tell us..Will let everyone know how my test turn out....I do not look forward to being off all mediciation for 5 days before the test...I know that my chest will feel like it is on fire,and the back shoulder pain is so bad that I cant set up,but it has to be done.The Nurse warned me that they have a lot of people who have to be retested because they give in to the pain and take a ppi,if anybody has any suggestions please let me know...Thanks everone,maybe my year long nightmare is coming to an end...Will keep you all posted
