I doubt that two days of throwing up brought about severe esophagitis. My experience has been that people who do not feel heartburn are most likely to get Barrett's esophagus. He needs intensive medical therapy and then be re-scoped to show that everything has healed. And if it doesn't which is what I anticipate, I would absolutely recommend surgery. Alan White
