Please forgive my spelling. I was diagnosed with having gastroitis at age 7. In 1991 I had an upper GI that showed a reflux. I have had it for many years, nothing seems to bring it on. I have had now 5 serious times when it lasted over 6 days. The last time I was given 2 GI cocktails and nothing helped. I had a scope done 2 years ago, and it showed my Esophagus to be normal. Zantac was no help. I am now on 40 mg of prilosec and that gives me little relief. I changed my sleeping and eathing habbits. I do not eat much spicy foods anyway. Why am I have so much pain and longer bouts and my scope still shows normal. I do believe I have a high threshold for pain. Could the scope not reveal everything, or did my doctor miss something? I am a Military spouse, seeing a military doctor with no options to see a doctor of my choice. What should I look for, that would be considered dangerous, and what questions to I asked? Also being in my mid 40's the pain is so strong, it feels like a heart attack, how would I know if it is my acid reflux or a heart attack?
