The safe answer is for you to seek medical attention now. Most times, though, the fish bone has scratched the lining of the esophagus, causing pain and irritation for a few days and it heals. However, I can only tell you if the bone has penetrated the esophagus, you could get life-threateningly ill and therefore, you should seek medical attention now. Alan White
