Acid Reflux-IBS

I have been suffering a long time and in my exams with my internist,when my reflux is bad, my IBS is very bad. My doctor recommended the fundoplication in hope of helping me. Reflux could be gone,but will my IBS do better or worse-I'm concerned. Does IBS get better when reflux is gone?
