reflux and chest pain

in 1997 i had an endoscopy done and told i have a hiatel hernia. I was taking prilozec for about a year before going back into the navy. In the last 4 months i have gotten worse. My doctor has put me on zantac and has doubled the dose since then. I have been having lower chest pain and shortness of breath, and in the last two weeks have started to have pains go lower and have lost 10 pounds. Any ideas what this could be ??? thanx mike
