My Scope was done in July 2000,It showed small Hiatal Hernia,Mild Esophgitis,mild gastritis...I have spent more money on test this past year,than the surgery will cost...C-scans,Nuc Pipin scan of Liver and Gallblader,Colonoscopy,Chest-x Rays,EKG,2 UPPER GI series,2 small bowel series,Solid foods Gastric Emptying test,motility,ph probe,lots of blood work...I really didnt understand how the test worked (DeMeester score) all I know is that the surgeon said a normal total score is 17....And that mine was above 80....He said that is way past the proof of normal reflux...The motility problem is with my swallowing....He said that it was slow down around the LES,it is slightly abnormal....But he wants to do the full wrap....I never had the feeling of heartburn until I took Previcid...One of my first symptoms was chest pain...I went to the ER with chest pain,nausea,left arm hurting,had EKG it was normal ...Doctor there said acid reflux he gave me the GI cocktail and 30mg of previcid it took all the pain away for about 4 days....That was the start of my nightmare.....
