I saw that Andrew Weil segment, too.
Be wary of any herbal supplement that claims to cure a multitude of conditions: cancer, arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, yeast, the list goes on!
I take herbs, have a full medicine-cabinet full of Black Cotash, St. John's Wort, Stinging Nettle, Black Elderberry, Valerian, and so on. But you can't just rely on them. It has been said that alternative remedies are the remedies that science has discarded and moved on from, and there is some truth in that. And yes, science makes mistakes (like Rezulin), but the number of people who died from just relying on herbal remedies is not counted (like the acquaintance of mine who thought he could cure himself of Prostrate cancer that way).
