Hey Judy, I get it sitting strait up too. Actually, sometimes I wonder if the hh enlarges when you sit and causes the les to open. Anyway, I had been sitting up in bed to avoid the reflux in my chest, but then found a site on internet that said nnnooooooooooooo don't do that. so when u sit all nite it hunches your whole body together - better to stretch out. Only problem tho is waking in middle of nite with a ton of some kind of fluid in your chest (esoph) very disconcerting. I have to walk around for some time b4 i lay again. And my bed is elevated, is yours? So im talking even with the elevation and a pillow. It really scares the heck out of you. No wonder we're all anxious , who wouldn't be with symptoms like these? I think normal ph is 7, so 8 would be a little more alkaline than neutral. Hmmmm. Are you taking carafate Judy? I am. It binds to bile salts (which do damage) I see my gi tomorrow morn. I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS THAT WHEN SHE SEES MY PAPERS, SHE IS GOING TO FAINT. HOPE THEY BOOKED ME FOR A DOUBLE APPT.............
