Is stomach spasm related to heart burn?

I would like to ask if stomach spasm related to heart burn. My friend went to see a doctor about her pain after and sometimes before meal, on the night she got stomach pain, she always awoke by the stomach pain she suffer in the middle of the night. I just want to know if this is heart burn or just nervous causing stomach spasm.
