24 hr Ph Probe Apprehensiveness

I am going in to my doctor to have the 24 hr PH Probe and I am a bit nervous. I just recently had sinus surgery and the thought of anything going in my nose practically makes me hyperventilate. Can they numb you?? I know you gag when it goes down your throaght, and people say its really not all that bad and you kinda forget about it after a while. But I am really concerned about it going in my nose & Me freaking out!! Has anyone else had this and can you please tell me what it was like??
