At this point the doctors don't really have a "diagnosis". They are trying to rule out every possibility and they were thinking that possibly the swelling in the esophagus was due to irritation from reflux. The prednisone was to reduce inflamation/swelling, which it does help (but only temporarily). But other than the swelling I have not had any symptoms associated to reflux, so I question whether I should continue being treated for reflux. Sometimes it is very difficult to even swallow saliva and that alarms me. I appreciate any advice/direction you have to offer.
