Gerd and chest pain

HI,

I was diagnosed with Gerd last summer, and have no heartburn while taking Prilosec. I went off for a week or so and really paid. My problem is the chest, arm, and leg pain. If I were to take a drug like Carafete, and watch my diet, would that give my esophogus time to heal and eventually end all these wierd sensations? I have had my heart checked, it is OK. Thank you for your help.
