hey doc, i am gonna have the surgery, i had all test done, i had 135 refluxes in 24 hrs, ony one was over 5 min, i think it was 8 min long. but like 90 something f them were in the upright position. this all freaks me out, im a martial artist, wrestler, aND IM ALWAYS UPSIDE DOWN, i never had heartbun, and i have barretts. my hh is only 3 cm. but i did have major esophogus spasms this summer, then all this started. i got scoped, and had an ulcer, and gastritis. got scoped 2 mo later, and ulcer was gone. then scoped again 2 mo later, and still no ulcer, but my pyloris is open. all the biopsys were neg for h pylor. i did have a non specific motor disorder, on monmetry. i had non peralistitic waves in the distal, which is where i have esophogitis, and barretts. i scored like a 25 on the demeester scae, which i think norm is like 14. i have a surgeon at cornel, who has done 500. he claims a 92 percent success rate. i now am on prevacid, and i dont get heartburn, but whenever i lay down, my stomache gurgles, feel alot of gas. and i can sort of feel the gurglig at the les. do you think im doig the rt thing by getting surgery? and can reflux cause spasms throughout your digestive ract? an?d can i compete in hard sports again, fter surgery
