Becky: chest pain from reflux is usually quite adequately relieved by antacid therapy such as Prilosec. Reflux may still be the cause, but I believe you need a more detailed work up that might include endoscopy (a look into your esophagus) and 24 hour pH monitoring (to determine if acid reflux is actually occurring). you should discuss this with a doc knowledgeable in esophageal reflux. good luck.
