Bulemia causes GERD?

I was Bulemic for about 7 years, finally got over it. Then started getting Gerd symptoms. I assume that the vomiting weakened my valve and now I probably need surgery. I have the GERD under control somewhat with Prilosec, but I dint want to take it forever. Is there any chance of healing without surgery?
