I too asked my Dr. about this and was told that no I would not be able to vomit. GI Dr. told me this also. I have been having a lot of problems with nausea and dry heaves since the surgery and would feel so much better if I could just get something up. I have no problem at all belching and have had no problem from the beginning with that. I had a terrible reaction to the pain medicine they gave me when I came out of the hospital after the surgery and had heaves with that but no vomting. Maybe it is something that comes back later on. I am one of these people that feels so much better if I have an upset stomach and I can get something up. This bothers me alot that I won't be able to do this anymore. I have my 6 month post surgery check up next week and I have that on my list to talk to him about. So many things we don't think to ask about before we have surgery.
