Hey Kay,
Regardless if you have acid or bile refluxing, the fundo will stop both; however, with the bile refluxing into your stomach even after the fundo you might develop bile gastritis. A lady, the posted on a different BB has a daughter with bile reflux. Her LES though is intact, so that little girl gets periodically bile gastritis. Her mother gives her Carafete, but if bile keeps refluxing you'll always have a battle in your stomach, because the bile will increase acid production (which you could take a PPI for and I guess for the bile the Carafete. I also suffer from bile reflux. When I had my scope, my doc sucked a whole tube of bile out of it, plus he showed me the pictures and I could see the bile stains on my stomach wall. PPIs do not help me a lot. I take 40mg Nexium (newest PPI), 4grams of Carafete, and Xanax. Yet, I still have that burning in my throat almost every day and of course the sour taste after every meal I take. Lisa had suggested a great GI doc in Philly who wrote the book on the esophagus. I actually made an appointment with him and will be seeing him in about 1 month. He has the newest equipment to measure if you reflux bile. So, I guess I will go through the whole procedure and all the other tests, but surgery is something I will not rush into yet. If you read my post Tried Reglan and Motilium; it will explain what I am going to plan to do. Good luck
