Folks,
I have had GERD for over 8 years and over the last one year my symptoms have worsened (regurgitation, heartburn, chest pains, etc.). I have tried all types of PPI's, reglan, propulsid and H2 blockers but none of them have helped me.
I have always been scared about the surgery because of the stories I have read on this web site. But I have finally given up and I am considering Nissen surgery.
My questions are:
- is the surgery effective when you have "delayed Gastric Emptying" especially since the stomach is smaller after the surgery.
- do you know a good GI doc and surgeon in Atlanta.
Thank you very much, --pj
