This is one Dr. Castell. He is highly regarded and his nurse told me that "he wrote the book on the esophagus" They have a bilitec probe which measures the presence of bilirubin in the esophagus over 24 hours time as well as monitors ph. This man has published ALOT. My surgeon felt very strongly I should be eval'd by him and wrote me a letter of intro. but I have discovered from Castell's nurse that they have not received that letter - my gi must be sitting on it. Which annoys me to no end. I have been waiting at home for her to call me for two days now, and am losing my good natured patience. I believe, you being two hours out of Philly would do yourself a GREAT service to make an apptmt with this doc. He is not a young wipper snapper, has been around a while, has plenty of experience, you can read alot of his abstracts off the PUBMED. I found his nurse to be very cordial over the phone and she also told me that she wore the bilirubin device and that all the nurses wear these things to check them out. Which I thought was pretty cool, bec. not many people would want to do this stuff who were not refluxing to kingdom come, if you know what i mean. Here is the info for this office 1800 Lombard Street #501 Philly. Phone (215)893-7128 Let me know if you decide to go see him. Two hours away, it's almost a no brainer. GOOD LUCK
